Movimento Libero explores the relationship between art and different skills, with a particular focus on the theme of accessibility. It acts as an incentive to redesign a world that is more accessible both physically and artistically, considering diversity as an engine for creativity.

Noemi Lakmaier is an Austrian artist based in London whose main area of interest is how we relate to ourselves and to others; Monica Barone is an Italian visual and performance artist. What does it mean to be a disabled artist in Italy and the UK today? How much can the cultural context and institutional system influence artistic pratice? How often are artistic projects confused with social projects when the main players are artists with a disability? In addition to the views of these artists, Anna Consolati, Elena Sorbi and Annamaria D'Adamo will offer some advice on good practice in Italy with actions and programmes from the East-West Festival in Rovereto (Trento), the Lenz Foundation in Parma and IAC - Centre for Integrated Arts in Matera.

The open talk will be moderated by Vania Cauzillo, co-founder of the theatre company L’Albero, with the participation of Alison Driver, Artistic Director of the British Council in Italy, and Marilena Antonicelli, Councillor for Social Policies and Schools in the Municipality of Matera.
